The art of belly dancing will be front and centre May 1 at Coquitlam Centre mall when Confidance and the International Bellydance Academy host a "shimmy mob" to raise funds for Tri-City Transitions, a local resource centre that helps women and children.

A shimmy mob is a random event like a "flash mob" but this one will be highlighting World Belly Dance Day May 14.

Shoppers can keep their eye out for dancers between 11:30 am. and 4 p.m. and offer donations for Tri-City Transitions or they can donate directly to Tri-City Transitions at tricitytransitions.com.
