It's time for the Best Pie in Town throw down at the Coquitlam Farmers' Market. This Sunday, local amateur bakers will be competing to have their flakiest crust and most delectable filling judged in the annual event.

This Sunday, local amateur bakers will be competing to have their flakiest crust and most delectable filling judged in the annual event. Judges include Christina Sepidoz-Walter, owner of Wilbur and Sebastian's Smokehouse Bistro in Port Coquitlam; and chef Gordon Desormeaux, a certified Red Seal chef, author, food columnist and culinary instructor.

Only 10 entries will be accepted for The Best Pie in Town and entry forms will be accepted up until Friday, Sept. 26 at midnight. Visit www.makebakegrow.com for details and to register.

The market is open at 625 Poirier St. every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 26.
