On July 31, Coquitlam's Centennial Rose Garden will be the venue for Performance on the Patio featuring the Armi Grano Jazz Trio.

Grano is one of Vancouver's premier jazz song stylist and is considered one of the finest vocalists on the contemporary jazz scene. Her distinct style, smooth, clear voice and engaging personality have attracted fans from all over the world with the release of her four albums.

Her influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Astrud Gilberto and Anita O'Day, which have helped her to develop her own blend of music featuring an exciting mix of Latin, pop, swing and jazz influences. Back from a seven-month stint in Puerto Vallarta, where she owns her own restaurant/jazz bar, Grano will have limited shows in Vancouver before heading south again.

The July 31 concert runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dogwood Pavilion in the rose garden; admission costs $12 for pavilion annual pass holders and $17 for visitors. Light refreshments will be served at intermission. To register, call 604-927-4386.

Dogwood Pavilion is a Coquitlam recreational facility for people 50 years of age and older and is located at 624 Poirier St., at Winslow Avenue.
