A long bath is one thing but what about spending 12 hours in a float spa?
Yet, that's the goal of three individuals and Cloud9 Float Spa in Coquitlam in order to raise funds for the Zajac Ranch, which provides camps for children and young adults with chronic, life-threatening and/or debilitating conditions.
With every $250 raised, Zajac Ranch can provide three hours of activities for 10 to 12 children.
To raise the funds, three individuals have vowed to spend 12 hours in a float tank at Cloud9 Float Spa (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) on Saturday, Jan. 23.
The challengers are Leo Cheung, a local yoga teacher, Matt Don Carolis, a local realtor and professional golfer, and Travis McLaren, Cloud 9 Float Spa founder.
The event is also in memory of Rob Maar, a TriCities realtor, who inspired the "Longest Float" fundraiser idea and who passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident.
Maar was extremely community-oriented and was passionate about raising money for young adults and children with disabilities.
HOW TO HELP
The goal is to raise a total of $3,000 which will all be donated to Zajac Ranch. Any donation amount helps and for those who donate there is an extra bonus.
All donors will be entered into a draw for a pampering package worth over $350 which includes:
• 3x Float Sessions at Cloud9 Float Spa
• 3x Lucia No.3 Light Sessions
• 3x Hydro-Massage Sessions
A donation receipt will also be issued.
So far $1,715 has been raised towards the $3,000 goal.
