Older Tri-City residents may ask themselves "How can I protect myself from being a victim of fraud?"
Coquitlam RCMP and the BC Centre for Elder Advocacy and Support will be coming to Dogwood Pavilion on Nov. 20 to answer that question.
This workshop, starting at 9 a.m., will focus on common scams targeting older adults and offer strategies to protect yourself against scams, how to check for counterfeit bank notes and deal with financial abuse. The National Do-Not-Call list will also be discussed and there will be plenty of time for questions after the presentation.
This presentation is free but pre-registration is required. To register and for more information, call 604-927-4386 or visit www.coquitlam.ca/dogwood.
Dogwood Pavilion is a Coquitlam recreation centre for people 50 and older, located at 624 Poirier St. (entrance off of Winslow Avenue).
