The Port Coquitlam resident and Douglas College student Sarah Rush has been diagnosed with not one but two debilitating diseases, requiring complicaed spine surgery that will have to be done in the U.S., according to a recent testimonial on the fundraising sitewww.indiegogo.com.

To help cover the cost of the surgery, her family is holding two fundraising events: a car wash this Sunday, June 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Prairie Service, 1976 Prairie Ave.; and a pizza night at Omega Pizza on Tuesday, June 11 (call 604-941-0341 to order; if you order, say you are part of the Sarah Rush fundraiser).

As well, bottles can also be refunded in Rush's name at the Biggar Bottle Depot, 2577 Kingsway Ave., Port Coquitlam.
