For Dogwood Pavilion 50-plus members only, Successfully Grow Succulents on Friday, June 22 from 1 to 3 p.m.: Participants will create their own water-wise planter with easy-to-care-for succulents, plants that store water in their leaves, stems and roots. Garden co-ordinator Julieanne Agnew will assist participants to create a planter that will last the summer and beyond. Participants will go home with something to place on their patio or deck to enjoy when the sunshine arrives. Cost is $30, including supplies, and pre-registration is required. Open to anyone 16 years of age and up, Landscaping Basics: Waterwise Gardening: This program runs Thursday, June 28 from 7 to 8 p.m. (and Saturday, Aug. 11 from 10-11 a.m.) Cost is $5 per person. Find out how you can reduce water use in your landscape and still have a great looking garden. Learn about the new sprinkling regulations, proper watering techniques, drought tolerant plants, the benefits of mulching, and more. Each participant will be entered into a draw to win a new city rain barrel valued at $72.

Registration is required. The Inspiration Garden is located in Coquitlam's Town Centre Park, at the corner of Pipeline Road and Guildford Way.
