The Summer Reading Club is a free, fun program that encourages kids of all ages to read (or be read to) for 50 days over the summer holidays.Kids receive a bookmark, reading log and calendar to keep track of their success and receive special stickers for each week of completed reading. Children who complete 50 days of reading will receive a gold medal, generously sponsored by the Royal Bank Financial Group at a fun-filled ceremony on Sept. 8.

This year's theme is "StrangeBut True?" and kids won't believe the weird and wonderful programs they can attend for free at the library.Learn about rare birds, bugs and mammals with Cinemazoo, or investigate strange experiments with Mad Science in our spectacular "Up Up and Away" program. Check out the Port Moody museum with a free pass after thee weeks of reading. All programs are drop-in and free for Summer Reading Club members. Space is limited, so arrive early to get a seat.

Summer Reading Club members can also make their mark on the community by voting for their favourite design for our new children's library card. Choose from three different templates, and receive a vote for every seven days of reading. The winning design will be announced at the end of the summer, during our amazing Medal Ceremony on Saturday Sept 8.

The Summer Reading Club is co-sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association, with assistance from the Public Library Services Branch, Ministry of Education.
