What do you think about hate speech and the Criminal Code?

SFU Philosopher's Cafe tackles that subject this month at its session in Port Coquitlam, priming the topic with this statement: "The hate speech prohibitions in Canada's criminal code are coming under attack. What is hate speech and why must it be legally prohibited? Does prohibition damage the freedom of speech provision of our constitution? Does it protect minority rights and contribute to a flourishing multicultural society? If so, at what cost?"

The Philosopher's Cafe starts at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 14 at the Gathering Place at Leigh Square. For more information, call 778-782-5215 or visit www.philosopherscafe.net.

Everyone is welcome; registration and experience are not required and admission is free.
