Have you been job searching for the past couple of months and have not succeeded in gaining employment? Have you been out of work for a while or changing job often and find it difficult to make employers notice you? Are your job search skills out of date?

Immigrant Services Society of BC's Job Options BC may be able to help as it focuses on helping those who have found looking for a job challenging.

ISSBC Job Options BC is an employment and skills training program that offers:

Phase 1 - five weeks of group workshop on job search with training allowances;

Phase 2 - up to five weeks of work placement;

short-term training, with six months of follow-up support.

Applicants will be assessed on eligibility and suitability. Funding is provided through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement. You may be eligible for the program - to be started on Oct. 11 - if you are:

unemployed and not attending school;

not on EI (have not established EI claim in the last three to five years);

willing to commit to 10 weeks of full-time job search training;

a resident of the Tri-Cities, Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows.
