Helping out the food bank a twoonie at a time

A twoonie may not go far but it can go a long way to supporting people in the Tri-Cities who depend on food banks. Once again, $2 Food Bank BC Sharing coupons are available at grocery stores in the region.

A twoonie may not go far but it can go a long way to supporting people in the Tri-Cities who depend on food banks.

Once again, $2 Food Bank BC Sharing coupons are available at grocery stores in the region. Just peel off a coupon and ask the cashier to ring it in to your purchase. All proceeds support food banks run by Share Family and Community Services.

"While we are most grateful for every food donation we receive, the money from this campaign allows us to purchase the food that we most urgently need," said Martin Wyant, Share's CEO. "Quite often we have an influx of soup but are completely out of peanut butter and canned meats. The coupons enable us to purchase these items, and other healthy and nutritious options that we don't often receive.

"If you are able to donate a can or $2, it's the $2 that's most helpful to make the best purchases."
