Port Coquitlam Heritage and Cultural Society has two events scheduled for next week - and both involve food.
PoCo Heritage's monthly meeting is set for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Gathering Place in Leigh Square. It will feature speakers Joy Galea and Julie Schmidt, who will discuss and share some heritage recipes.
Two days later at Wilson Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.), PoCo Heritage will host a free Jubilee Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. You can celebrate Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee in regal manner with refreshments, goodies, games, quizzes and exhibits. Free tickets are available at the Wilson Centre customer service desk but there is a limited quantity, so don't delay.
As well, PoCo Heritage will host a heritage evening on Sept. 27 in the Community Archives in the Outlet building at Leigh Square; Dan Owens will be demonstrating bread making.
