Homeless shelter program needs volunteers for November

St. Andrew's United Church in Port Moody is calling for volunteers for the bridge shelter program that will run in November. The church expects to serve about 15 to 30 people every night.

St. Andrew's United Church in Port Moody is calling for volunteers for the bridge shelter program that will run in November.

The church expects to serve about 15 to 30 people every night. Volunteers are needed to set up mats and serve supper in the evening, then, in the morning, to serve breakfast, distribute bag lunches and put away mats.

Volunteer shifts are from 9 to 11 p.m. for the evening shift and 5:45 to 7:45 a.m. for the morning shift.

An orientation will be held at St. Andrew's (2318 St. Johns St.) on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. Donations of food, supplies and money are also being accepted.
