You can unravel the mysteries of man’s best friend and support Douglas College veterinary students during a special event next week.

Monday, Oct. 3, Stanley Coren, a UBC psychology professor and neuropsychological researcher best-known for his award-winning books on dogs, will present “How Dogs Think” at Douglas’ David Lam campus, 1250 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, 7 to 9 p.m. in room A1470.

Diane Boyle, an instructor in the Veterinary Technology program at Douglas College, said the presentation will be entertaining as well as informative, especially for those interested in learning about the intelligence and psychology of dogs.

“This is a great opportunity for dog-lovers and the general public to gain insight into the fascinating world of the canine brain,” she said in a press release.

The public lecture is part of Animal Health Week (Oct. 2 to 8), a Canada-wide public awareness campaign that promotes animal health and responsible animal ownership.

Tickets cost $10 for general admission or $5 for students, and are available through eventbrite.ca.

All proceeds will go to the Douglas College Veterinary Technology Bursary Fund and the SPCA Vancouver Hospital Trust Fund.
