Kids can vote on new Port Moody library card for them

Calling all kids: Port Moody Public Library is launching a new library card just for children and librarians need your help in choosing the best design.

Calling all kids: Port Moody Public Library is launching a new library card just for children and librarians need your help in choosing the best design.

Three designs have been created for the new children's card and PMPL wants to know which one young people like best.

Children are invited to visit the library and cast their vote. The contest is open to children up to 12 years old or anyone who is registered for the Port Moody summer reading club.

The rules are simple: Visit the library, choose your favourite design and then vote. Each child is allowed to vote once each day for his or her favourite design. The contest is running all summer, so children will have plenty of opportunities to vote.

The contest closes on Sept. 1 and the winning design will be announced the following week at the summer reading club medal ceremony. The brand new children's card will be available in time for Port Moody's 2013 centennial celebrations.

Funding for this project is provided by the Links to Literacy golf tournament.
