Port Moody Public Library's new kids' card is now available.

Over the summer, local children cast nearly 10,000 votes in PMPL's children's card contest. Three designs were created for the new children's card and kids aged 12 and under voted for their favourite image.

More than 4,000 votes were submitted for the winning design: the "monster party" card (see image, far right).

This fun new library card is now available for kids to pick up at Port Moody Public Library. It's free to get a new card or to swap an existing card for the new design. As a special bonus, kids who drop in to pick up their new library card in November and December will be entered in a weekly book draw.

There's just one catch: Only children aged 12 years and younger can get the exclusive design - no adults.

To pick up the new library card, kids must visit PoMo library in person. If you are aged 12 and under and you have an existing library card, just swap it for a new one at the circulation desk. If this is your first library card, you will need your parent or guardian to bring in their own identification and a piece of your ID. Library cards are free.

The children's card project was funded by PMPL's Links to Literacy golf tournament. For more information on the new kids' card, contact the library at 604-469-4577 or [email protected].
