Learn how to identify anxiety disorders in children during a workshop Thursday, Feb. 6 at Vanier elementary school in Coquitlam.

Three Douglas College nursing faculty members will be sharing their knowledge about how children experience anxiety.

Topics dealt with at the workshop will help parents understand when anxiety becomes a problem, strategies for helping children cope, the different types of anxiety disorders and how to navigate the mental health system when a child needs services.

The workshop is free and runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided and child care may be available by contacting Jeremy Baerg [email protected] or 604-945-7311. Vanier elementary school is located at 1600 King Albert Ave., Coquitlam.
