PLANT A SEED GALA
A local gala is being held to raise funds for community gardens at local schools.
The Footprints Conservation Society will be hosting its second annual Planting the Seed Gala on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Evergreen Cultural Centre, 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam. Doors open at 3 p.m., reception is at 4 p.m. and dinner will be at 5:30 p.m.
Proceeds raised from the buffet dinner catered by Fred Soofi of Pasta Polo will go towards providing children with hands-on projects that promote active learning and a healthy lifestyle.
According to spokesperson Krystal Vrba, the goal this year is to build four gardens at middle or elementary schools next year, including three in the Tri-Cities.
