Adults can learn about the warning signs and how to help someone struggling with their mental health in a workshop Thursday at Dogwood Pavilion.

The recreation centre for people 55 and older is hosting a free and interactive workshop for adults Oct. 4 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. that will be presented by the Mood Disorder Association of British Columbia and will cover:

• what mental health is and why it’s important;

• how to identify signs of mental health concerns (e.g. low mood, depression, anxiety, bipolar);

• how to help someone who is experiencing mental health challenges;

• helpful and trustworthy community resources
