Young professionals in the Tri-Cities can accelerate their careers with new learning and networking opportunities thanks to the expansion of a program called the Company of Young Professionals (CYP).

CYP allows professionals under the age of 35 to learn from seasoned business leaders through networking, development and volunteering. The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade to bring the program to this region.

"We're thrilled to announce this new partnership, which will help create a strong, interconnected business community across our region," said Iain Black, board of trade president and CEO in a press release.
In addition to the Tri-Cities, the program is also being offered through chambers of commerce in North Vancouver and Richmond.

Michael Hind, CEO of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, said the program is important to meet the needs of the changing workforce. One of every two people in the world's workforce will be a millennial in less than 10 years, Hind said.
“Programs such as the Company of Young Professionals are crucial to our collective success, and will help ensure the chamber movement remains relevant to Greater Vancouver’s next generation of business leaders," he said.
