Port Coquitlam green thumb enthusiasts have a little extra time to nominate their favourite garden for the Pride of PoCo Garden Awards.
Due to unseasonable weather in June, the closing date for nominations has been extended to Friday, July 13.
The 16th annual awards are organized by the PoCo Garden Club to recognize the efforts of local residents and businesses who work to beautify the community. There are a variety of categories, including residential (front and backyard), business, multi-family complex or balcony gardens.
A new feature has been introduced this year called the Before and After category, giving residents the chance to show off the improvements they have made to their yards.
Nomination forms are available at all civic buildings and online at www.portcoquitlam.ca.gardenawards.
