ParticipACTION's new national campaign will be combatting the constant lure of computer, video game, smart phone and TV screens by bringing back play.

ParticipACTION's new national campaign will be combatting the constant lure of computer, video game, smart phone and TV screens by bringing back play.

And to jumpstart activities for children, the Bring Back Play Funmobile will be at the Port Moody Winter Farmers Market on Sunday, March 22.

Being physically active is important because it has the potential to improve a child's physical, emotional, social and cognitive well-being.

ParticipACTION's new campaign, called Make Room For Play, is a call to parents and caregivers to limit children's screen time. One of the unique elements is called the Unplug and Play Week, which is a pledge for parents to unplug devices from March 23 to 27 and go outside for physical activity for at least 60 minutes a day.
