You and your children can learn how to stay safe on busy roads and sidewalks at a Pedestrian Safety Fair in Port Moody tomorrow (Saturday) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
With fall here and daylight fading faster, pedestrian safety is crucially important. Still, too many people walk while texting and wear headphones when crossing busy streets.
Find out how you can protect your family at the event that will take place in the parking lot behind Port Moody city hall.
Highlights include: an ICBC distracted walking course, pedestrian mapping and an opportunity to run a traffic signal, Port Moody police and fire representatives, bike safety information, free cookies and other giveaways.
The event is free but participants are asked to bring a contribution of a non-perishable food item for for Share Family and Community Services' food bank.
