Polish music, food, songs and dance will be celebrated in Port Coquitlam this weekend as the city hosts Polish Culture and Heritage Day.
The annual event, which is presented by the Tri-City Polonez Polish Association, will give local residents a taste of Polish culture and traditions as part of the day-long festivities.
"This day is extremely important to us," said Tony Koska, chair of the Tri-City Polonez Polish Association. "It gives us an opportunity to share our Polish culture and give back to the country we now call home."
Beer, sausage and other Polish foods and beverages will be available and the Popular Polonez Folk Dance Ensemble will provide entertainment. Participants will get the opportunity take part in various arts and crafts activities and children's games will also be on hand. The event is open to people of all ages.
The celebration gets underway Sunday, May 27 at 12:30 p.m., running to 6 p.m. at the Leigh Square bandshell adjacent to PoCo city hall.
