The city of Port Coquitlam is offering residents the chance to appear in the 2014 calendar and win a photo shoot with a professional photographer.

The Faces of Port Coquitlam contestants have until Aug. 18 to submit either a short video or a photo and writeup of what they love about the city. Twelve participants will be featured in the city calendar and other civic publications, and will be entered to win a photo shoot conducted by Tri-City photographer Darla Furlani.

The city is looking for a diverse array of submissions showcasing the range of ages, cultures, genders and family types in PoCo.

Photos will appear in the annual city calendar, which includes information about waste collection, events and other city initiatives. Calendars are distributed to more than 11,000 homes in the city each December and is also available for pickup at city hall (2580 Shaughnessy Street).

Submissions must come from Port Coquitlam residents and explain why the contestant loves the city. A person submitting a video clip must keep it under 30 seconds while write-ups with photos must be 100 words or less.

Photo booths will also be set up for contest submissions at the city information tent at Homecoming Weekend events on Aug. 17 and 18 (see www.portcoquitlam.ca/100 for more information).

City staff will contact the winners in late August or early September to arrange a photo shoot for the calendar images during September.

For more information or to complete the online submission form, go to www.portcoquitlam.ca/faces or call 604-927-5499.
