MOVIE AT FOX

Port Coquitlam's Terry Fox Library will show the animated feature Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (rated G) from 2 to 4 p.m. Call 604-927-7999 for more information. Terry Fox Library is located at, 2470 Mary Hill Rd.

COQ. ACTIVITIES

School's out and kids can spend time away from the classroom at Coquitlam's Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities:

Swim camp (for children seven to 12 years of age): Start the afternoon with a supervised swim, followed by games, activities and crafts; this program runs from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at City Centre Aquatic Complex.

Pinetree day camp extravaganza (six to 10 years): Crafts, science experiments, cooking, sports and games from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pinetree community centre.

Gym and swim (seven to 10 years): Fun in the gym and then an afternoon swim from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Activity Centre.

Pro-D day intergenerational special: Grandparents can spend the morning with their grandchildren (eight years and older) doing crafts from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Glen Pine Pavilion.

Red Cross babysitter training (11 to 18 years): Certified by the Canadian Red Cross, this course teaches the skills needed to care for babies and children. Topics include safety, child development, care and feeding, diaper changing, games and more. The course runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pinetree community centre.

Coquitlam River family hike: This family hike explores the trails around the Coquitlam River from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Meet at Spirit Square at Glen Pine Pavilion, 1200 Glen Pine Crt.

Pro-D day at the pool: A day of fun and games for all ages, 1 to 3 p.m. at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex; regular admission rates apply.
