The organization involved in building and operating a permanent homeless shelter and transition housing in Coquitlam is reaching out to the community it aims to serve.
Over the last few weeks, staff of RainCity Housing and Support Society have been visiting households and businesses in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam to let them know about the project under construction at 3030 Gordon Ave. to house local people who are homeless.
As well, a community newsletter has been established and people can receive updates on the project by emailing [email protected].
The project is currently looking for members for its community advisory committee and the building is expected to open this fall, replacing temporary shelters that have operated for a number of years at several at Tri-City churches.
