What does the 21st century look like for schools?

Southside Family of Schools Parent Education in Port Coquitlam is hosting a meeting tomorrow (Feb. 26) featuring a discussion of the role of technology in School District 43.

The keynote speaker will be Stephen Whiffin, the district's manager of information services and a former principal, who will explore how technology is changing education, the emerging trend toward bringing personal devices to school and the opportunities and challenges this development will bring to schools.

The session, called "21st Century Learning and the future of Bring Your Own Device," takes place 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. at Hazel Trembath elementary school, 1278 Confederation Dr. Admission is $8 per couple or $5 per single, and free childminding is available with advance registration.

Payment will be taken during check-in at the seminar; parents are asked to arrive early as lineups can be long. Cheques can be made payable to SFSPE or Southside Family of Schools Parent Education. Walk-ins will only be accepted if space is available.
