Has science disenchanted our world?

That's the question to be addressed at the first SFU Philosophers' Cafe of the new year, being held at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Gathering Place in Port Coquitlam's Leigh Square. Admission is free.

Moderated by Graham Forst and co-sponsored by Leigh Square Community Arts Village, the discussion will cover a variety of angles, including: Science empowers us by helping us overcome technical obstacles and superstition but what happens to the music and magic of myth and metaphor in the face of scientific authority? What do people lose and gain when science answers our questions.
