Kids and parents can discover what creatures live beneath the waves on Saturday at Belcarra Regional Park.

Participants in Creatures of the Not-so-deep will explore the beach at low tide to find crabs, sea stars and squirting clams. They’ll also watch a puppet show and see dungeness crabs at the dock as well as help a local biologist catch, observe and release animals collected in a seine net.

Join Metro Vancouver and Belcarra Beachkeepers on July 22 between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for this free family program. Participants should allow an hour or more and should bring rubber boots or shoes that can get muddy.

The program is open to all ages and registration is not required.
