People looking to learn more about how to make their homes more environmentally friendly are invited to attend a workshop at the Glen Pine Pavilion later this month.

The two-hour seminar is led by Coquitlam's energy manager Trevor Billy, who will talk about an environmentally sustainable cabin he built on Texada Island.

Billy will show photos and share how he incorporated a composting toilet, solar electricity, rainwater collection, local and recycled building materials, healthy interior finishes and more in his cozy cabin.

He will also discuss the building process, a feat he accomplished with no prior construction experience, and the adventures of living in a sustainable, net-zero home.

The seminar will take place on Wednesday, April 24, between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. at the Glen Pine Pavilion (1200 Glen Pine Court).

Admission to the event is free and people can register by calling 604-927-4386 or emailing [email protected].
