YEAH FOR KIDS!

Several Tri-Cities Champions for Young Children were given recognition during a special event hosted by the Tri-Cities' Early Childhood Development Committee last month. The winners were acknowledged during a gala at Coquitlam's Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club. They are: Kerrigan Gymnastics Academy, Denise Anderson, Debra Smith, Mary Anne Nelson, Friendly Forest Parent Co-operative Preschool and Vicki Lepper.

GOOD JOB

Coquitlam staff at Kirmac celebrated their annual fundraiser last month with a Cares for Kids barbecue for the community. The company took a percentage of earned income from each of its repairs to help kids in medical need. This year's total of $152,041 beat last year's donation of $120,000. The money will be donated at the 25th annual BC Children's Hospital Miracle Weekend.
