A campaign to expand the Port Moody Arts Centre got a boost this month when a credit union handed over $5,000.
As part of its donation, G&F Financial Group will have its name on the visual arts studio at PMAC for the next 10 years
WIGS FOR KIDS
Eight students at Port Coquitlam's Maple Creek middle school cut and donated 82 inches of their hair to a wigmaker in Vancouver this month.
The company will use the hair to make wigs for kids who have lost their locks due to cancer treatments. Four hairstylists from Angelo's hair salon in Port Moody volunteered their services.
FLYING HIGH
Three air cadets with the 754 Phoenix Squadron in Port Moody will spend their summer learning about aviation and how to fly the skies.

BRIGHT LIGHTS
The Ioco United Church in Port Moody received a new stained glass window, custom-designed by a Belcarra family of four children who had attended the church until a recent move to San Francisco.
The Shackerley-Potter kids Jayden, 16, Kayla, 14, Chelsea, 10 and Travis, nine based their window design on their favourite hymns.
Ambleside Glass artist Roger Bryant helped them expand on their childhood memories in the area. The window was installed and dedicated on Easter Sunday on April 5, with the family in attendance.
