Gleneagle secondary graduate Rachelle Gillis walked the red carpet in Hollywood last week for the premiere of Pants On Fire.
The 18-year-old Coquitlam actress plays Bradley Steven Perry's crazy girlfriend, Lisa, in the Disney movie, which airs on Friday on the Disney family channel, said her mother Michelle Gillis.
HATCHERY HELP
Mossom Creek Hatchery volunteers received a $12,000 grant from Vancity last Friday to buy salmon rearing equipment for the hatchery that's now under construction in Port Moody.
The money will be used for the heath tray incubation system, Capilano troughs, rearing tubs and related plumbing.
'HEARTWARMING'
Port Coquitlam Mayor Greg Moore gave a certificate of appreciation this week to Cdt. Jackson Reid, the 13-year-old Citadel middle student who stood at attention at the PoCo cenotaph after Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was gunned down last month at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
Reid was at the post every day until Tuesday, Remembrance Day, in honour of Cirillo. Moore said Reid's gesture was "heartwarming" and had a ripple effect across the country as other cadets followed suit.
Also at the PoCo city council meeting was Afghan veteran Trevor Street, a PoCo resident.
