RED DAY
Tri-City Keller Williams Realty Associates will be participating in the sixth annual RED Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) on May 8 to help Community Ventures Society (CVS), which provides services such as foster families placements, summer camps for medically fragile children, respite for families so they can get a break, life-skill training, employment services, community inclusion programs, and shared living services. Keller Williams has volunteered to contribute to the renovation of a recently purchased building for CVS, a non-profit organization in Port Moody that supports children and adults with developmental disabilities. WESBILD HELPS
Share Family and Community Services Society has announced that Wesbild Holdings has re-committed the Clarke Street building in Port Moody to the non-profit agency for another year. The 12,000 sq. ft. building was originally dedicated in 2004 after Wesbild bought the former industrial building and extensively renovated it to suit Share's needs. It is home to the food bank as well as Share's family resource centre, counselling and community development services. "We are very grateful for Wesbild's ongoing support," said Martin Wyant, Share's executive director. "Their contributions have allowed Share to provide improved services that support families and individuals who are dealing with many challenges such as hunger, addiction and mental health issues." In addition to the Clarke Street building, Wesbild is a regular supporter of Share as the presenting sponsor of its Imagine fundraiser; as well, many Wesbild employees volunteer for the organization. Wesbild Holdings specializes in master-planned communities, shopping centres and golf courses, and is currently working on Burke Mountain in Coquitlam.
COFFEE & CASH
Grade 7 students at Coquitlam's Queen of All Saints School held a fundraiser with a caffeine kick recently. The kids, with help from Coquitlam Mounties, firefighters and Mayor Richard Stewart (and coffee donated by Cafe Calabria in Vancouver), hosted a coffee drive-through, raising $950 for farewell events for their final year at the Catholic school.

A Coquitlam restaurant got some welcome attention in the prestigious Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. Insadong Korean Restaurant on North Road received an honourable mention in the recently announced awards' Best Korean category. A panel of 18 distinguished judges with a broad spectrum of expertise selected the finalists in 49 categories and more than 700 of B.C.'s top chef's, restaurateurs, sommeliers and food critics gathered at Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre to recognize the province's best.
