GOOD WORK

Staff at Coquitlam Public Library have checked in a national accolade - and $500 - for their service to seniors. The Canadian Library Association announced CPL as the recipient of the prestigious W. Kaye Lamb award, a prize that's given out once every two years.

CPL spokesperson Teresa Rehman said staff provide a number of innovative programs for Coquitlam seniors and shut-ins including transcribing their verbal book reviews for the library's blog, assist with Dogwood and Glen Pine pavilions bookclubs, offer internet classes in English and Chinese, train in eBook and conduct multi-cultural programs at Dogwood.
