ON A ROLL

Members of Dogwood Pavilion - a seniors centre in Coquitlam - and its advisory board recently rolled $973 in pennies for the Share food bank. The campaign to raise the coppers came after the Canadian Mint announced the one-cent coins will soon be obsolete. "The members of Dogwood and the advisory board recognized that many people face needs in their day-to-day struggles and Share's dedicated staff and volunteers are working had to assist individuals in the Tri-Cities and they were happy to support this worthy cause," said spokesperson Dot Harinen in a release.
