Tom Ramsay of Meridian RV in Port Coquitlam has been recognized for his community contributions and business. Ramsay recently accepted the 20th annual Canadian Dealer of the Year accolade. To achieve the award, Ramsay had to win the provincial title and be nominated by his peers.

A Maillardville organization last month picked up a national award for excellence in promoting francophone art and culture. Societe francophone de Maillardville's executive and artistic director Johanne Dumas collected the Louis Riel accolade at the Contact Ouest annual gathering in Whitehorse.

Impromptu: A Kitchen Party, the second annual signature gala for Coquitlam's Place des Arts, was a merry wake for Uncle Joey McCann. The event last Saturday raised $10,000 for the Maillardville facility's arts education programs.
