RING A DING DING

Port Coquitlam firefighters collected toys and food from the city's elementary schools earlier this month - donations that went into Share hampers for families in need this holiday season. PoCo schools garnered 3,426 pounds of donations, which were picked up on Dec. 13 and 14.

IGA CHEER

Port Moody firefighters rolled their engine across the street to pick up $2,900 from MarketPlace IGA, which raised the money for one the department's leading charitable causes: Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Customers brought in the funds through the Ioco Road grocery store's Community Card program.

911 HELP

Coquitlam RCMP's fourth annual 911 We Care yielded more than 700 toys, 350 pounds of food and $260 in gift cards - a haul that topped last year's total, said co-ordinator Zabrina Braithwaite-Kelso. The detachment's social club also hosted an Amazing Bake Sale and raffle with $750 raised for Share.
