The Women’s Collaborative Hub Society (WCH) is providing a superstar incentive to attract nominators and early ticket buyers for its second annual Women Influencers Awards.
The event celebrates women in the Tri-Cities, Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge who make a positive difference to those around them. WCH co-founder Sandra Horton said the recognition the women receive from the awards helps increase confidence, one of the leading barriers to women feeling empowered.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam on Nov. 16. Nine awards will be handed out in three categories:
• Health and sustainability (beyond the call of duty, outstanding caregiver, sustainability champion);
• Kids and family (inspirational wonder woman, exceptional educator, emerging influencer); and
• Community builder and connectors (extraordinary leader, community steward, online dynamo).
Nomination and ticket information is available at wchwomeninfluersawards.ca.
Two nominators or early bird ticket purchasers (before midnight on Oct. 5) will win two tickets to see A Conversation with Ellen featuring talk show host and comedian Ellen de Generes at Rogers Arena on Oct. 19. The draw will be held Oct. 6. Another two who buy tickets by Nov. 8 will win a pair of tickets to the We For She 2018 event at the Vancouver Convention Centre Nov. 16. That draw will be held Nov. 9.
The prize tickets were provided by a sponsor of both events, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, a community partner of WCH.
