This summer, youths 16 and older can earn volunteer hours in the Port Moody Public Library's new Tech Café program.

PMPL is looking for friendly, patient teens who are willing to help adults explore a variety of computer topics. Volunteers will work one-on-one with adults to explore basic computer topics and solve simple technology issues.

The Tech Café program will run on Thursdays in July and August from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Teens must be available for the June 23rd training session but do not need to be available for every session during the summer.

All volunteers will receive training and learn customer service and instructional skills in a safe, supervised setting. Volunteer credit can be applied to high school graduation requirements or used on a resumé.

Volunteer application forms are available at the library or online at library.portmoody.ca/audiences/teens. The deadline for volunteer applications is May 24.

For more information, contact youth services librarian Vicki Donoghue at 604-469-4666 or vdonoghue@portmoody.ca.

PoMo Public Library is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
