Until Jan. 24, Art Knapp Plantland (1300 Dominion Ave., Port Coquitlam) will chip your tree for a $5 minimum donation, with proceeds benefitting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - the company's number one cause. The chips will be used as gardening mulch. Call 604-942-7518.

SCOUTING

Keep the Tri-City Scouts busy by dropping off your empties between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for the 10th Coquitlam Scout group bottle drive, happening at Bramblewood elementary (2875 Panorama Dr., Coquitlam). Proceeds will help to pay for Scouting activities in the community.

MAILLARDVILLE

Drop off your Christmas tree with the Scouts Francophones de Maillardville to chip in the parking lot of Canadian Tire (1200 Seguin Dr., Coquitlam) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The cost is by donation.

KINSMEN CHIP

The Kinsmen Club and 1st Kinsmen Scout Group have the central location in the Tri-Cities for tree chipping at Coquitlam Town Centre Park (off Pinetree Way) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today and tomorrow. The cost is by donation.

MUNDY PARK

The Friends of Mundy Park Heritage Society will have their annual tree chip from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday in the Mundy Park gravel lot (off Hillcrest Avenue) in Coquitlam.

BOTTLE SCRUM

Help get the boys with Gleneagle secondary's rugby team off to California this spring by donating your bottles to pay for their tour. Drop off your empties from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coquitlam high school (1195 Lansdowne Dr.) or, for pick-up, call 604-944-7951 or email dawnhowey@hotmail.

POMO FIREFIGHTERS

Port Moody firefighters with Local 2399 are helping the Children's Burn Fund by chipping trees today and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Firehall No. 1 (200 Ioco Rd.). Enjoy coffee or hot cocoa while your vehicle is being vacuumed. Cost is $5 minimum donation. Visit portmoody.ca.

POCO SMOKE-EATERS

Port Coquitlam firefighters with Local 1941 host a tree chip today and Sunday at Firehall No. 1 (1725 Broadway St.) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with proceeds benefitting the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund. The wood chips are used in city parks and trails. The cost is a minimum donation of $5. And, for $10, PoCo residents can have their trees collected from their homes. Call 604-927-5405 for pick up.

Meet and get autographs from retired 'Nucks Orland Kurtenbach, Harold Snepsts, Darcy Rota, Dennis Ververgaert, Jim Robson, Garry Monahan, Jack McIlhargey, Eddie Hartoum, John Grisdale, Dennis Kearns, Bob Murray and Ernie Dougherty.
