ZUMBA TO CUBA
Help the Terry Fox secondary music students raise money for a trip to Cuba this spring, and get fit, too, at a Zumba (a Latin-dance style fitness class) and beauty event tonight. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. (1260 Riverwood Gate, PoCo) and the event runs until 8 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in advance (contact cstouten@shaw.ca or Curves at 604-472-1025) or $15 at the door.

WALK WITH ME
Join Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart on a walk through Mundy Park this morning at 8 a.m. The free event is open to people of all ages (and dogs on a leash) and will be lead by a fitness trainer. Meet at the Spani Pool parking lot.
SWAP MEETS
Central Community School (2260 Central Ave., PoCo) hosts a fundraiser swap meet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and promises something for everyone. Entrance is $1 before 11:30 a.m. and free after that. Gleneagle secondary (1195 Lansdowne Dr., Coquitlam) hosts a Kids Helping Kids swap meet to raise money for a school in Ecuador, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
ARE YOU PREPARED?
Be ready for an emergency by taking one of Port Coquitlam's free emergency preparedness seminars, on today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants (open to PoCo residents) will learn to survive without aid for the first three days, identify unsafe conditions, basic fire suppression and more. It's the 23rd annual Festival du Bois, full of foot-stompin' francophone fun for the whole family. The festivities get started at noon today, with young Squamish fiddler Jocelyn Pettit wowing crowds from the main stage. Music continues throughout the day, so be sure to stick around for a poutine dinner and the evening shows by Tanga and La Ligue du Bonheur.
