SWAP MEETS

Tables are still available ($25 or $35 for commercial vendors). Contact centralschoolfundraising@gmail.com. Gleneagle secondary (1195 Lansdowne Dr., Coquitlam) hosts a Kids Helping Kids swap meet to raise money for a school in Ecuador, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.

ARE YOU PREPARED?

Be ready for an emergency by taking one of Port Coquitlam's free emergency preparedness seminars, on today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants (open to PoCo residents) will learn to survive without aid for the first three days, identify unsafe conditions, basic fire suppression and more. Space is limited; register at 604-927-5466 or at www.portcoquitlam.ca/ep. The next seminar is May 26.

FOR WEE ONES

Bring the little ones to the Terry Fox Theatre (1260 Riverwood Gate, PoCo) for Tiny Tots: Sailing the Musical Seas with Lisa and Lucy. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra presentation gives kids (and their parents, too) a chance to jump and clap, swing and sing with Presto the Porpoise and Largo the Tortoise. Shows run this morning at 10 and 11:30 p.m. Visit www.terryfoxtheatre.com or call 604-927-8400 for tickets.

VIVE MAILLARDVILLE!

It's the 23rd annual Festival du Bois, full of foot-stompin' francophone fun for the whole family. The festivities get started at noon today, with young Squamish fiddler Jocelyn Pettit wowing crowds from the main stage. Music continues throughout the day, so be sure to stick around for a poutine dinner and the evening shows by Tanga and La Ligue du Bonheur. Get back to Mackin Park (1046 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for all-day entertainment, starting with Les Echos du Pacifique. And don't forget to drop by the workshop and children's tents for interactive activities. Visit www.festivaldubois.ca for a full schedule and tickets.

BINGO MEAT

Two great things - bingo and meat - come together at the PoCo Legion (2675 Shaughnessy St.), which is hosting a free bingo session at 1 p.m. and a meat draw at 3:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome; call 604-942-8911 for details.
