HOME EXPO
If the onset of spring has you making a list of home sprucing projects, you're not alone. ART FUSION
The Galleria (100 Newport Dr., PoMo) plays host to the second annual Polish Canadian Art Fusion exhibition and sale, showcasing works created by B.C. artists of Polish heritage. The paintings evoke the artists' culture, history and their links to Canada. KIDSPORT SALE
Get ready, it's the annual KidSport Tri-Cities spring used sporting goods sale, and it's a big one (more than 1,400 people attended last year). From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riverside secondary (2215 Reeve St., PoCo) parents can get their hands on a wide variety of quality used sporting goods at deep discounts. So if your kids need bikes, cleats, lacrosse sticks, hockey pads or pretty much anything else, this is the place to be. There is no tax and all proceeds sub- sidize sports registration fees for kids from lower income families.
HOP & HUNT
Easter is a week away but the whole family can get a jump on the festivities at Coquitlam's Bunny Hop & Hunt at Glen Pine Pavilion (1200 Glen Pine Crt.) from 10 a.m. to noon. FIREHALL OPENING
Check out Coquitlam's newest fire hall, complete with shiny red fire trucks, at its public opening today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tour the Burke Mountain facility (3501 David Ave.), grab a grilled hot dog for the Coquitlam Firefighters Charitable Society and maybe even take a peek at all the bells and whistles on those trucks. Parking is limited and visitors are asked to walk, cycle or carpool.
PIPE FOR A CAUSE
The world-renowned SFU Pipe Band, which includes about a dozen local residents, will play their hearts out in a special benefit concert to help one of their own, longtime member Andrew Bonar of Surrey, who has brain cancer. The whole community is invited to be part of the opening reception for the Federation of Canadian Artists, Fraser Valley Chapter's Spring Show. OVER HERE
The Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) hosts an opening reception for Look This Way, an exhibit of selected works form the Artists for Kids Collection, before it opens to the public on Monday. The
show features works by renowned artists like B.C. Binning, Ed Burtynsky, Douglas Coupland, Jack Shadbolt and many more. The Artists for Kids program was established in 1989 to build an art education legacy for the children of B.C. The reception runs from 3 to 5 p.m. today and the exhibit is on from March 30 to May 10. HONOURS CONCERT

A bunch of bands are coming together for a day of live music in support of Variety - The Children's Charity at the Giggle Dam Theatre (2616 Shaughnessy St., PoCo). The music marathon Rock for Kids starts at noon and will feature 14 bands including The Headpins, Mary Jane's Last Dance, Bang! and more playing for 12 hours, along with a live auction, photo booth and prizes.
