And it's better than ever. Celebrate the opening of the newly renovated park (1046 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) with free entertainment, food and activities from 2 to 8 p.m.

GET A JUMPSTART

Help kids get in the game by supporting the fifth annual Jumpstart Day at PoCo's Canadian Tire (2125 Hawkins St.), which raises funds for Jumpstart's campaign to help families that can't afford to enroll their kids in organized sports. Customers can donate $2 in exchange for a red ball; a barbecue and waterless car wash are also available by donation.

CLUTTER CLEAN

Home Instead Senior Care hosts a spring clean-up event to encourage seniors to clear out household clutter (such as sensitive information and old bills) and help prevent identity theft. The shredding event runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the Glen Pine Pavilion (1200 Glen Pine, Coquitlam), along with a neighbourhood swap meet. Call 604-927-6945 to register.

SPRING TEA

Bid on a range of great prizes - including Vancouver Symphony tickets, whale watching, PNE admission and more - at the Eagle Ridge Hospital Auxiliary's 14th annual Spring Tea and Silent Auction. Funds raised help purchase equipment and patient comfort needs. The tea runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Parklane Room at ERH (475 Guildford Way, PoMo). FUN FOR KIDS

Mr. I and the Rainbow Singers perform at the Friendly Forest Parent Co-operative Preschool's spring festival at the Anmore elementary gym (30 Elementary Rd.) from 1 to 3 p.m., along with ice cream, snacks and plenty of fun activities. The Port Moody Arts Centre Society is offering up sips of B.C.'s best wines from the likes of Upper Bench Winery, Desert Hills Estate, Summerhill Pyramid and more. HOOK & LINE

An annual kids' favourite, the Como Lake Fishing Derby is back for a morning of fishing fun. Kids up to 16 years old are welcome to participate in the free event for a chance to win one of the hundreds of prizes up for grabs.
