Spirit Week wraps up while wine and wearable art take over for this weekend's entertainment options.

RAW POWER
Cara, a certified sports nutritionist and raw food chef, is teaching the benefits of a vegan raw food diet for improving athletic endurance and reducing recovery time. Tips on training and lessons in the pros and cons of proteins, carbs and fats will be discussed with a view to putting you at the top of your game. Also, learn to make fast and easy raw food energy bars, smoothies and dinners. TAILING THE EXPRESS
The Super Bowl is long gone but there's one tailgate party still worth making. Tail Gate 2011 at is a Coquitlam Express pre-game party from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Poirier sports complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam). The event is being held in support of the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation and features a musical performance by The Matinee and free food and drink with your entry ticket. WEARABLE ART PERFORMANCE
Sponsored by The Tri-City News, the annual Wearable Art Awards are back in the Port Moody city hall galleria (100 Newport Dr.). Featuring local and international artists, Saturday's red-carpet performances will showcase models showing off this year's most creative pieces, to be judged before the winners are announced at Sunday's awards reception. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and are available only by calling 604-931-2008.
SPIRIT BREAKFAST
As part of the Port Coquitlam's Spirit Week celebrations, there will be a community breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. at Wilson Centre (2150 Wilson Ave., Port Coquitlam). Pancakes, sausages, juice, coffee, tea and family entertainment will be provided. Tickets are available at any PoCo recreation facility for $6 for adults and $3 for kids under six years of age.
WINE AND DINE
Sample 18 fine Italian wines and expertly prepared appetizers at A Taste of PoCo Spirit III at 7 p.m. at the Gathering Place (2253 Leigh Square, Port Coquitlam). This wine-pairing evening offers lessons in cuisine featuring wine expert John Gerum of West Coast Wine Education and foods from Earl's Restaurant in Port Coquitlam, set amongst the Gathering Place's ROOTS: In the International Year of the Forest art exhibit. HANDS-ON HERITAGE
Bridging Generations, a new series of programs featuring local seniors teaching traditional skills, presents a lesson in perogy making from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Mackin House (1116 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam). Sponsored by the Coquitlam Heritage Society, this hands-on demonstration has a limited capacity of 10 people so registration is required by calling 604-516-6151.
MAILLARDVILLE TOUR
Join a local historian for a Maillardville Heritage Walk around the largest francophone community west of the Rockies. The guided tour will be in both French and English and will feature stories behind the historic buildings and tea and coffee following the 30 t0 40 minute walk. STRINGS FOR A CAUSE
The Kabok String Orchestra, conducted by Bryan Deans, is featured in the second recital of the Joan West memorial concert series at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church (315 Walker St., Coquitlam). Tickets for the concert series, which will help young parishioners attend World Youth Day in Madrid in August, cost $50 for the whole series and are available at the church office or by calling 604-936-2525.
LADIES' NIGHT
All-female a cappella group The Shirleys delight with humour and song, singing everything from Russian ballads and Cuban carnival tunes to Mandarin musings and Appalachian folk ditties. Joining The Shirleys is the Coastal Sound Youth Choir under the direction of Carrie Tennant. The 65-person Coquitlam choir has made a splash recently, performing with the likes of The Nylons, musica intima and Nikki Yanofsky. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) are $38 for adults, $35 for seniors, $32 for students, $20 for kids under 12 and $20 for upper-balcony seats.
