Today is the last day of a two-month campaign to throw a ball at PoCo Bowl (2263 McAllister Ave., Port Coquitlam), which wants to raise $20,000 for Variety - the Children's Charity through the annual BC Bowls for Kids. NO FUN FRIDAY
Kids aged seven to 10 can spend a Friday night at the Hyde Creek recreation centre (1379 Laurier Ave.) as part of the city of Port Coquitlam's No Fun Friday series, designed to get children active and away from screens. The program, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., includes carnival games, sports, a bouncy castle, music, Lego building and a concession. The cost is $10 in advance or $15 on the day. NEW FIRE HALL
Port Moody's long-awaited new Inlet Centre firehall will open its doors to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The party at 150 Newport Dr. (beside PoMo city hall) will include music by the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps GRILSE, tours, fire prevention displays, a blessing, a public art unveiling and a free barbecue and cake.
