SING US A SONG
Port Moody singer/songwriter Greg Drummond will test out his latest tunes at a show at the Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Dr.) tonight. A semi-finalist in the Peak Performance Project last year, Drummond will play songs from his second album, a 10-track work due to come out this fall. The 19-plus show is sponsored by Deep Cove Brewing, which will sell its craft beer and vodka on site. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets at $20 are available on eventbrite.ca or through gregdrummond.com.
THEATRE TIME
The Coquitlam community theatre society Stage 43 closes its season with Seduced by Moonlight, running tonight and tomorrow at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). The actors at Port Coquitlam's Second Storey Theatre (201-2250 Shaughnessy St.) are at it again, hosting shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. For this run, they're giving us performances inspired by the 1990s TV program American Gladiators. CYCLING FOR ERH
Support the riders in the annual Wheel 2 Heal, which is sponsored in part by The Tri-City News, as they cycle for Port Moody's Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. The Town Centre Park event for the 65 km and 100 km riders starts at 8:30 a.m. and the trail courses at 10 a.m. The kids' race gets underway at 11:30 a.m. for the three-year-olds. Art Focus' spring show happens this weekend at the Leigh Square Community Arts Village in Port Coquitlam. The exhibition runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in The Outlet. Partial proceeds from the artwork sales will benefit the association's scholarship fund. Also at Leigh Square from 2 to 4 p.m. will be the opening reception for Past Meets Present, a traditional rug display by Gone Hooking.
FISH FUN
Help to set free 40,000 young chum salmon into Noons Creek at Port Moody Ecological Society's annual Fingerling Festival Moody. The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the recreation complex (300 Ioco Rd.) and across the bridge behind the complex at Noons Creek Hatchery. Hear from environmental groups such as OWL and the Sea Shepherd Society.
