BABY TALK

New moms can learn about chiropractic care for babies during a talk by Dr. Nareeta Stephenson of Port Coquitlam's Strawberries and Sunshine Healing Centre. She will speak at 1:45 p.m. as part of the Baby's First Year drop-in program at Place Maillardville (1200 Cartier Ave., Coquitlam.) Registration is not required. Call 604-933-6166.

PLAY ON!

Stage 43, a Coquitlam-based theatre group, has a comedy at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) called Play On! about a behind-the-scenes production gone wrong. HELP HAZEL

Port Coquitlam's Hazel Trembath elementary will host a community garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise money for its PAC. The event takes place inside the school gym (1278 Confederation Dr.). Organizers have this request for attendees, though: "No early birds, please."

HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

Coquitlam city council and staff want to hear from Coquitlam residents at its townhall meeting, which runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Centennial Room at Centennial Pavilion (620 Poirier St.). Residents can take to the mic to sound off on any topic such as property taxes, recreation facilities and tree loss. HOP TO IT

Coquitlam's Pinetree community centre (1260 Pinetree Way) will show the movie Hop, serving up refreshments and popcorn and making fun spring-themed crafts. This event runs between 2 and 4:30 p.m. in Room 7, 8, 9 and is open to children six to 10 years of age. Admission is $2. Register in advance at 604-927-4FUN or just drop-in.

MIDLIFE

Join Tony Prophet and the Midlife Crisis band at Glen Pine Pavilion (1200 Glen Pine Crt.) from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. The band has been playing around Metro Vancouver for more than 14 years with varied catalogue that ranges from 1960s music to modern country and rock tunes. Tickets at $20 for members and $25 for non-members includes a dinner, served between 6:15 and 7:15 p.m. Call 604-927-6940.

Meet specialists in the health industry and learn about wellness tips at the Port Moody Community Day, hosted by the city and the PoMo Farmers' Market. The aim of the event - sponsored in part by The Tri-City News - is to teach participants to "shop local, live local" with information provided from Tri-City vendors. The family day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the PoMo rec complex (300 Ioco Rd.).

Coquitlam Metro-Ford Wolves tangle with the Delta United Hurricanes in a Provincial A Cup men's soccer semifinal game at 4 p.m. at the east field of Town Centre Park, located off Pinetree Way in Coquitlam.
