Tour the Port Moody Arts Centre (2425 St. John's St.) to see the work of its members in a biannual exhibition, titled Architecture: the built environment. The artwork in the Main, Plum and 3D galleries includes sculptures, mixed media and 2D pieces. The facility is open today until 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Visit pomoarts.ca.

YUMMY PASTA

SOCCER ACTION

Cheer on the young sports teams taking part in the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club's 27th annual Labour Day tournament, happening from today at Coquitlam Town Centre Park (off Pinetree Way) until Monday, Sept. 2. The competitive youth tournament is for boys and girls teams; however, registration is now closed. Visit cmfsc.ca.

FACE-OFF

The Powell River hockey team is visiting Coquitlam to take on the Express for an exhibition game at 8 p.m. at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre (633 Poirier St.). 20 YEARS

Michael Abraham's month-long retrospective, titled Apologues, at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) ends today. Check out the Vancouver artist's whimsical paintings and sculptures. The ECC art gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Visit evergreenculturalcentre.ca.

Hawthorne Seniors Care Community will host a country fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money for its operations at 2111 Hawthorne Ave., Port Coquitlam. The Tri-City Chinese Association and Tri-City Chinese News is marking the long weekend with a potluck picnic at a new Burke Mountain green space: Galloway Park.
